Center for Congregational Excellence Staff 
Bob Farr, Director

Bob Farr is the Director of the Center for Congregational Excellence at the Missouri Annual Conference. He was a student at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, where he majored in Organizational Communication and Fire Safety. He attended seminary at Perkins School of Theology, and he first served in the Missouri Conference at Randolph Memorial in Kansas City. He started a new church in Lee's Summit called Grace UMC, and his latest appointment was at Church of the Shepherd in St. Charles where he led the congregation through a relocation. He is experienced with developing the Pastor Leadership Development program, church consulting, relocations, mergers and new church starts.

Tammy Calcote, Executive Assistant

Tammy Calcote is the Executive Assistant to the Director of the Center for Congregational Excellence and the Director of Financial and Administrative Ministries. She serves as the Missioninsite Regional Administrator for the conference statewide. She has held positions in Health Insurance/Pension Benefits, Production, Office Manager/Registrar for Camping & Retreat Ministries, and has served as the Administrative Assistant for the Dir. of Congregational Excellence, Dir. of Pastoral Excellence and Dir. of Connectional Ministries. She has four years of study in Business Management, 24 years of administrative experience and is a certified United Methodist Church Secretary through the Professional Association of United Methodist Church Secretaries Institute (PAUMCS) cosponsored by General Council on Finance and Administration and Candler School of Theology.

Beverly Boehmer, Coordinator of Youth & College Ministries

Beverly Boehmer is the Conference Coordinator of Youth and College Ministries and has served as a volunteer in youth ministry since 1968. She began on staff at First UMC, Jefferson City in youth ministry and Christian Education and recreational ministry. Then she joined the staff at Green Trails UMC doing congregational care, new members and confirmation. Bev has served as District Youth Coordinator, and Conference Coordinator of Youth Ministries since 1996. Having led many workshops, seminars, consultations with local churches, districts and the conference, she has a great passion for working with youth and young adults.

Geovanna Chavez, Director of Hispanic Ministries

Geovanna Chavez is the Director of Hispanic Ministries of the Missouri Conference. She comes from Quito, Ecuador, where she lived for sixteen years before coming to the US to study and serve God in many capacities. She completed her undergraduate studies at Centenary College of Louisiana, and graduated from Saint Paul School of Theology with a Master of Divinity. She has successfully planted Hispanic churches in Houston, Texas and Kansas City, Missouri, in addition to being one of the cofounders of Revolution UMC in Kansas City. Through her work as Director of Hispanic ministries, she hopes to help build strong, self-sufficient Hispanic churches in key areas throughout the state.
